Five for Friday!!

Happy Friday friends!!! It’s a non-student day for us AND our last work day before mid-winter break! Woohoo for a week off!! We don’t normally get a week off but, since we started before Labor Day this year, we get a whole week! Yay! I am so excited to link up with Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching to keep this good vibe going!

We’ve been learning about George and Abe this week. We ended our week with a little writing. This prompt comes from our President’s Day Passages Set. The kiddos had to write about one law they would make, one thing they would get and one way they would help people. Boy…there were some funny answers! This is one of my favorites! Of course, why wouldn’t everyone get candy????

This week we moved to GPS tracking. With all the horrible things happening in schools nowadays, we wanted a little peace of mind. This watch allows us to track our kiddo through an app on our phone. It also has a speaker phone that allows 4 numbers to call in and out. We’ve been pretty open with our daughter about ways to stay safe at school if the worst happens, get out and hide. Now, we are feeling just a little bit better. It’s called the Gizmo Pal 2 and we got it from Verizon. It’s pretty reasonable if your looking for something similar. Obviously. there’s no guarantees but this makes me sleep a little easier.

I may, or may not, have shared with you that I have an obsession/fear when it comes to sharks. They are fascinating and terrifying all wrapped up into one. They are the reason I won’t swim in the ocean but also make we want to jump on a boat and study them. Well, at The Rack this weekend I found these gems. Actually, my daughter found them. I mean these are some high fashion shoes…needless to say, I had to pass.

Well, here is my loot. I don’t usually get gifts from kiddos. Our population struggles and money can’t be wasted on such things. This year though, my kiddos spoiled me. I LOVE them all! They are now prominently placed on my bookshelf…until the end of the year at least:)

Today was our Valentine’s Party. This is the reason I am so exhausted!! I always tell my kiddos that they can make Valentine’s if they want. One kiddo took me up on that this year. All 22 kiddos got a homemade valentine. This is one of them! I love them so much! So creative:) They weren’t all boats. Some were hearts and they had glitter glue…melt my heart<3

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get A LOT of rest after your Valentine Day celebrations!!

I don't blame you for wanting to keep your daughter safe! If I had kids I'd go buy that GPS tomorrow! It's a scary world 🙁
I don't usually get gifts either but my kids spoiled me today. I prefer not to receive anything because then the other kids feel bad. Theyre so sweet!
