Five For Friday

Helllooooo teacher friends! Hope you are having a fantastic week!  What have you been up to? Getting ready to go back to school or already in the swing of it?  Here are five random things about this week with a big thank you to Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for hosting Five for Friday!

This week’s highlight was finishing up one last summer trip.  This time it was to Texas to visit family. What a great state!  My son, daughter-in-law, and grandson took me to the Fort Worth Zoo.  Wow! That is the best zoo I have ever been to… and I’ve been to a lot of them!  Good work, Fort Worth!

On the plane on the way back, I finished reading this book.  It is a fantastic book if you want to get more in-depth and effective with your interventions.  A great read and I HIGHLY recommend it!

Arriving back in Seattle brought an amazing and terrible sight.  Sorry the picture is blurry, but the sun was RED!  Not yellow, not orange, but brilliant RED!  That was because much of Eastern Washington is involved in wildfires and the smoke has covered our whole state.  It is terrible!  Rainy Washington has had no rain to speak of this summer and is dry as a bone.  We can’t wait for our rain to come back.

And sadly, the final day before our official return to school arrived.  I spent it studying and writing my “must remember to do” notes that I had put off all summer!  Ha!  At least I finally got them done….well….mostly.

Finally….the day came.  Back to school.  So long summer.   Sniff, sniff.  Ah well…..my teeny tiny office is ready to go for my intervention groups.  Now if I can just get myself ready to go…..it seems my mind is still dreaming of a wonderful summer.  Sigh.

What have you all been up to?  I’m off to your blogs to catch up with all the latest news.  Can’t wait to see what you all have been up to.

Here’s to a wonderful new year ahead!  Good luck to you all!

Smiles,
Kristin

Ooh! The picture of the sun is very eerie… Hoping for lots of rain for you all, and soon! Glad you enjoyed your trip- we really enjoy visiting the zoo. I will have to remember that Fort Worth has a good one. One of our favorites is the Denver Zoo. Have a great weekend!

I live in South Dakota and we had a red sun also due to the smoke all the way from Washington! Prayers for rain and relief for your state.

Ha. I am up in the middle of the night just to write my remember-to-do list! My daughter is heading your way for her first job in Seattle with Boeing. We live in Michigan. So far… sniff. I'm a sad mom… See you next time. Kathleen Kidpeople Classroom
