Five For Friday

Happy Summer everyone!  This Five For Friday is brought to you thanks to Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching!  Don’t you just love the relaxing pace of summer?  Ahhh….so nice! Here are five things I love doing in the summer.

We have been having very unusual warm weather this summer…remember we live in the Seattle area where it rains a lot, and is cool a lot….but not this summer!  What better way to cool off than to get out and do some “yakking.”  I LOVE this kayak that my dad made for me a few years ago.  It is a very special treasure made with lots of love and African okoume wood.  And since we live right next to the Puget Sound, we can be on the water in five minutes and spend as much time as possible there. Here is the view from the kayak three days ago! Such a beautiful part of the country, no?

Summer also means lots of time spent with my grandbabies!  Here is our oldest grandbaby, Lindsey’s daughter, relaxing at Grammy’s and doing some summer reading! This picture makes my heart say…Ahh….Life is so good!

And of course summer means more time to play with the furrykids!  They are such clowns and make us so happy! Our two newfs and our golden just love it when the BarkBox comes because it means new toys for us to play with.  The June BarkBox arrived just in time for summer fun!

Another great thing about summer is lots of uninterrupted time to devote to making TPT projects! Here is a sneak peek at the new series we are working on. I don’t know about you, but we sure do need a ready to go resource for guided reading! We are having lots of fun working on it!

And of course….working on TPT projects requires appropriate brain fuel!  Umm…yes…that would be ice cream!  My husband brought this home for me and I dove into it immediately  I carefully pondered the pros and cons of the calorie load in this baby before thoroughly enjoying it.  Hey…it makes my products better!  I’m sure of it!  And that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! Ha!

So there are five things I love about summer.  How about you?  How is your summer going?

Summertime Smiles,
Kristin

I love the picture from the kayak. It does look like a beautiful part of the country. The Bark Box picture also made me smile. Your dogs were clearly interested in it.

Such a fun post to read! First, I love that you are always the first link in the blog linky! Second, the photo of the kayak is gorgeous. Finally, I have been known to have a treat from the Dairy Queen as my evening meal…..I figure if I am going to sacrifice 700 calories I can justify it by having it for supper!

Love the view from the kayak! Can't wait to get home and enjoy it myself. I also find DQ to be excellent brain fuel. Can't wait to see more of your new resource. I know it's going to be great!
    See you soon in Vegas!
    Joya 🙂
