Five For Friday

Hi Everyone!  Happy, happy, happy Friday to you!  I hope you all had a fabulous week.  Here is a little Five For Friday for your entertainment!  Thank you Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for hosting this Friday fun!

I know, I know….they are supposed to be five random things, but I can only think in themes.  So this week’s theme is “The Big Family Adventure!”  (or maybe just a ridiculous little adventure)

This is how the adventure started…..

The husband:  I need to buy a new work truck because the old truck is about gone.
Me:  Ugh!  Really?  (insert whining and moaning over a car payment here) Well okay.  Just make sure that all four dogs (side note….we have three newfoundlands and one golden retriever) will fit into it along with all our gear so we can go to the cabin.
The husband:  Well I found this Hummer that I think will do it (sidenote…the thing is HUGE!) but we need to drive to the other side of the state (across the mountains) to get it.  Maybe we could get the kids to go and we can stop in Leavenworth for lunch.
So off we went to get this beast.

We stopped in Leavenworth, which is an adorable Bavarian style town in the Cascade Mountains, for lunch and a little shopping.  It’s such a fun town and just a two hour drive from home. You really feel like you got away because of its European style.  We just love it and go at least once a year.

Of course my husband (Grampy) broke the cardinal rule and only bought ONE ice cream cone for TWO grandbabies.  This is what happens when you only buy ONE ice cream cone for TWO grandbabies!  Big sister has the pout going because little brother is not sharing much!  (Whew that pout will come in handy when she is a teenager…..or grown and married….ha, ha, ha.)

Then it was down the other side of the mountains and off to Yakima to get the beast of a truck.  Of course we had to stop at Sonic on the way back.  Now all of you that have Sonic will not understand, but we have like three of them in the WHOLE state and NONE are anywhere near the Seattle area. Harrumph. We are so jealous of all of you who have them on every corner.  We fell in love with Cherry Limeade Chillers while following our son around the country (while he moved here and there for the military).   So about once a year we get to go across the mountains for a drive and stop at Sonic.  Notice the LARGE size.  Yum! You would think there would be a lot of Sonics in the Seattle area, but nope!  Hey Sonic….are you listening????  And that was the happy ending to our family’s Big (or little) Adventure!

And this is how I feel about the weekend coming!  BIG SMILE!  (Olaf is such a hambone!)

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Smiles,
Kristin

Olaf's smile is hilarious! It sounds like you had a fabulous adventure, even if everyone didn't get quite as much ice cream as they wanted!
