Five For Friday

Hi friends and happy, happy, happy Friday to you all!  It’s time again for Five For Friday!  Thank you Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching for hosting this fun way to spend the end of each week!  What have you all been up to this week?  Here’s a peek into what’s been  happening in our corner of the world.

The Moon!!!  We’ve always enjoyed sky watching at night, but oh-my-word!!!! did the moon stand out this week or what??  Hope you got to see it, but just in case you didn’t…here it is in all it’s glory…mid-eclipse!  I stand in awe of glorious nature!

This girl!  Speaking of the moon….just love this girl to the moon and back!  She’s Lindsey’s daughter, our oldest grandbaby and the only girl grandbaby.  We garden a lot together when she comes over.  She grew this pumpkin at Grammy’s house and is sooo proud of it!  Great job sweetie!

Three guesses…..what is this going to be?  Well….when the same grandbaby looks you in the eyes with her sweetest smile and says…”Grammy, will you make me a peacock costume for Halloween?” Grammy swoons, and Grammy says “YES honey!  Of course!”  So…soon this pile of tulle and peacock feathers will be a beautiful (cross our fingers, hope for the best, please, please, please turn out!) peacock costume!

And keeping up the grandbaby theme  (sorry boys…Grammy will give you equal time in a future blog post)…it only cost Grammy and Grampy $85.00 spent on the school fundraiser to make sure that the girly got her 4 “fine” plastic dinosaurs to put on a lanyard and wear around her neck!  It’s that smile she gives us….gets her way every time!  Ha!  And we love every minute of it!

5. Okay, okay!  Back to school stuff now.  This week we published our newest resource for reading, Bats Leveled Quick Read Cards and Responses, and Spiders Leveled Quick Read Cards and Responses.  They go right along with our Bats Leveled Reading Passages, and Spiders Leveled Reading Passages.  You can use the passage sets in guided reading and use the Quick Read Cards in centers at the same time!  If you want to know how…click HERE to see how we use them.  You can get them HERE, if you are interested.

And even though it’s Five For Friday….a little extra this week.  Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the shooting at Umpqua Community College in our neighboring state of Oregon yesterday. We are praying for you all!

Stay safe everyone and have an awesome, amazing and restful weekend!

Smiles,
Kristin

I love that you are helping to make her Halloween costume. I wish I had paid more attention in Home-Ec and kept practicing my sewing skills. For now I'll just have to keep buying costumes. I hope you have a great weekend!
