Hi Paula! So sorry it took me so long to reply. Life whizzes some weeks! I have lots of ideas for books using great descriptive words!
Summer Legs by Anita Hakkinen, Beekeepers or Girl on the High-Diving Horse both by Linda Oatman High – her words match the theme of the book too…"Her heart was pounding like hooves.." Also Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes…"She wilted. She bloomed." Brave Irene by William Steig has amazing powerful verbs for describing actions. Hope these help! Thanks for connecting with us! I like the book, thanks for the suggestion, can you suggest a book that shows using more descriptive words, I know I have one, but just cannot think which one it is! and yes I feel your pain on losing a staff member, we are losing 10, yes TEN! to a brand new school.
