I love Chris van Allsburg! I am not as familiar with The Stranger, but here's another one for your kids to solve- The Wretched Stone! It's about a ship that brings a large stone aboard and then lots of weird things begin to happen. In the end you don't know what the stone might be, but you can get your kids to speculate. It's pretty fascinating! Try it!
